From: Profiling oral and digital lesions in sheep in Ireland

Photograph illustrating a, well demarcated, elliptical ulcer (black arrows), approximately 5Â mm in diameter with a red centre on the lingual aspect of the lower lip, along the midline. The periphery of the lesion is blanched due to digital pressure. This lesion was observed in an 18Â month-old female sheep grazing on very tightly grazed pasture. Detailed examination failed to detect the presence of pathogenic organisms. This combined with the location of the lesion and the grazing history suggests that this lesion was likely traumatic in origin
